In trying to figure out why this thing wont idle.........I've began to notice its running kind of funny. What controls the cars idle while its in Drive, or any other gear for that matter. I can turn the idle adjustment screw down to like 900rpm and the car is fighting to stay alive. Its bumbling, bogging, etc. Once I put it into gear it practically dies, sometimes it does.



IF i bump the idle up to like 1300-1400 the car runs fine. I can shift it into park, reverse, or whatever else and it idles at like 800rpm and drives fine. I dont understand this, because you'd think if the car had a vaccum leak, the problem would be persistent all the time, not some of the time. Anyone have any clues?

this car has a ported motor in an absolutely stock car... even the ecu is stock
