dowel has nothing to do with the water seals.

The builder was saying that on high boost rotarys the housings start to move around a lot , he said he could visibly see the housings chattering and the dowls worn out . He said if the housings lift it give more of a chance for exhaust gas to destroy the water seals ? I haven't had a rotary apart but I guess I will soon get the plesure of taking one apart

Problem solved ! I put the bur9eq's in the leading and ngk 6725's in the trailing . The car is crisper than ever and boost comes on 1000 rpm earlier.

the plugs were not the cure. shortley after the car started to smoke (burning oil) what i was seeing on the plugs was oil not gas , the front rotor was worse than the rear. during the teardown there was standing oil in the #1 housing and te control ring wearing surface was almost completely shiny on the front rotor, much more than the .020 allowed . so why are they so worn? not replaced during rebuild? side plates too worn (.010 wear at the side seal wear pattern on the combustion side)? e-shaft endplay? oil contol ring clearence? I sent the side plates out to rb to get lapped and ordered a new set of control rings with seals,I plan to reassemble with the fresh housings and control rings also checking all clearences since im a little worried about the builder i chose .
