THE QUEST FOR 500
#1
finaly got a chance to have steve tune my setup this weekend and had nothing but problems , i had ignition breakup from 6500-8k starting at 13psi , the leading plugs would foul every two runs so we would have to pull them and clean them to keep going. I finaly asked steve to just turn up the boost and only brng it to 6500, we ended up making 486 whp at 32psi and 6k rpm when the clutch finally gave. im running new factory coils with a msd 6a and msd wires and that apparently isint hot enough , so im just curious as to the setups that do work on higher horse rotarys . steve recomended a turbo 2 coil or possibly ls3 coils with the 6a . i know there are tons of post on ign setups but theyre old and id like to see some real numbers with proven setups . so what ignition setups are you guys running that will support over 600whp?
street port 13b
aem ems
gt4088
msd 6a / wires
stock coils
ngk 10.5 race plugs
premix only
bosch 1680/ID1000
aeromotive A1000
-10 bulkhead in tank
-10 to -8 y for fuel rails
-6 returns of frails to fpr
stock return line to tank

Re: THE QUEST FOR 500
there is nothing wrong with the ems, . its not enough spark to make a complete burn . we would literally do one pull and the plugs would be dripping wet and the shop filled with black smoke. burn more fuel= more power.
no offense taken to ignorance

o right. do you know the fuel curve might be to loaded?? thats why you are killing the plugs?? im stilll sticking to what i said. your engine power sucks ***. i mean seriously? 32psi and cnt get to 500 hp?? what an ignorant . you just got ripped off

Re: THE QUEST FOR 500
fuel curve ? your a moron fuel curves are different for every turbo, injectors , fuel difference map, stage flow ratio ect.... thats why you tune to a specific afr that works best with the fuel your using , mine was 12.5 due to the use of 110 and the leaner you afr the harder it is to burn . why dont you do some research before making ill informed statements. this post was started to try and find different ignition setups that are being used usefully and that was it .

no ****?? like i didnt know that ? man go ahead and keep throwing away your money. exactly who ever is tunning gotta be real good at it. has to know how to clean the exact points. you stupid **** look at that 12.5 and still fucked up. get the **** out of here with that **** man . most people make more than that and with lower afrs . and a suckier ignition . so you lost your money buddy
