power how much

How much power can I get out of my stock 13b twin turbo motor. Im talking about with the stock turbos. and what would I have to do to get that power. and then When I save some money how big of turbos can I go without building my motor. I want to run fast and safe on my motor until I can finish a full build on my other motor.

Dear Swead:
The stock motor is rated at 250 hp to the crank. To increase the hp on the stock motor, you should remove the precat and add a downpipe with a high flow exhaust, replace the stock air intake with free flowing intake such as that offered by Pettit racing. upgrade your intercooler, and radiator. I added dual oil coolers to help keep the engine cool. On the top of the list should be a knock retard device that will retard the timing under boost to avoid detenation.
I upgraded my old stock turbos to the '99 spec twins sold by RX7.com and I have over 250hp to the rear wheels. Add a Power FC and you should get over 300hp to the wheels with the stock motor.
What is nice about the twin turbos, if you plan to drive the car on the highway, is the better low end torque. If you are going for an all out race car, you might consider a single turbo. Just don't forget the knock retard device or you could loose all of your hard work in a snap.

Others may disagree, and my figures are definitely a guestimate, but......
Since you indicated you have a "swapped" 13bREW, I'll assume your exhaust is already opened. Same for intake.
In the past there used to be a "3 MOD RULE" associated with the car when still on the stock ECU. Exhaust, intake and IC were the three typical ones while STAYING AT STOCK BOOST LEVELS. Hard to put hp figures to it, but with those at stock boost, probably 250 at the wheels.
With a re-flashed ECU or standalone (PFC, Haltech etc.) I think you can increase boost to about 12 psi on the stock turbos before they start making more heat than boost (out of efficiency). Maybe 300-320 whp. Now you start having to get into bigger injectors, fuel pump, single or BNR etc. And you damn well better have other supporting mods...cooling especially.
Power, reliability, low cost. Pick two.
