Pfs Intercooler Problem

Yeah this can be a problem if they are over torqued at one point in time. Also there is a special tool to instal those nut inserts. I would try and find a nut insert a little larger or weld over the hole and shave it smooth and leave it be.

To the people suggesting welding - Not many of us can weld aluminum.



I would say call the company you get the replacement insert from, ask them what they suggest. I do believe there are inserts that exist that are similar to rivets - you slide them in the hole then tighten them with a special tool to clamp them on to the metal. Although, i really have no idea where to look for these. I have seen them on industrial/wholsale hardware websites.

Just talked to a guy at Peter Farrell's shop...he suggested welding the hole shut. Guess i'll find another way to hold the duct on....rather safer this way anyway.

Thats basically what I was telling you. Then you could tap the patch if so choose.

Either way its not that big of a deal, good luck.
