anyone used a FC1000? its reasonably priced and RX7.com seems to like them. and what about using 2 dual bosch coils Vs. 4 MSD blaster coils. i already have 2 i got for free, but is it worth it to get the bosch coils?

What are you looking to push (HP)?? I'll be honest with you.. it all depend on what kind of power you are going make and such.. Most people in my opinion, don't need all the fancy coils or amps... They just need a good tlc and a good tune..

(basic build set up, theres a lot more)

i planning to push 400WHP. with a T61 precision turbo. apex-i PFC with the FC datalogit. using 550cc primary and 1600cc secondary. minimal porting, really just a clean up. i already have pretty much everything here. and from what i have been looking up, i like the FC1000. and maybe i dont need the coils...but i bought just about everything else. why not just get some nice coils, you know?

I might think twice about using those 550cc primaries but I'm not really sure, you may need more fuel. Herblenny could tell you more about the fuel requirements than I can. But back to the msd coils I'm sure that the msd are really good I just offered the second gen coil since they are really good coils and they are definetly going to be cheaper than the msd units. but I'm sure that the msd coils are good too. its all personal preference but I try to not spend more money on something that I don't need but if you decide to go they way of the msd coils I bet you will like them too. Good luck let us know how it goes.

by the way herb do you know what the limitations of the second gen coils are?
