Ok, silly question but I'm old so go easy on the flames... I've got an R1, so it didn't come with cruise or fog lights. I purchased the cruise components some time back and added them with no problem. Everything was "plug and play". the wiring for all the components, actuator, CPU, switches etc was already on the car. I just had to plug the stuff in and was good to go.

I'm now trying to add the factory fogs. The lights mounted right up, plugged them in to the existing wiring up front, but when I tried to add the OEM switch in the console, I can't find the factory plug for the switch as I had for all the other stuff. I bought the car at about 54k and it was pretty stock, so I don't think the previous owners removed it.

As unlikely as it may be, has anyone else run into this? Could the factory have left the plug that runs to switch wrapped up under the dash somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

Good question, Here is a link for the PDF file on the chassis electrical info. Maybe you can find an answer there. The link is from iluvmyrx7.com click here.

hmm, do you want them to operate as per factory specs?? the fogs only come on when the headlight sare on an the switch is on the on position.

i rewired mines to come onwith the parking lights and the switch on. you could technically wire them to the existing wires for either the parking or head lights.

Thanks FD3boost, I'll look that over.

Treceb,

As a matter of fact, eventually I want to wire the lights as "daytime running lights" and run them anytime the ignition is on, but be able to shut them off from the switch if I want to. It's just that hooking anything to that switch without the plug is going to be a PITA, since it's just got those small PIN connectors.

the wires and plugs inside the bumper are there, BUT, the plug is not ther for the switch, the relay is not in the slot, also the wires that the relay plug into are not there, BAsically you are screwed sorry to say. why they even bothered putting the harness in the bumper is beyond me
