Hello everyone,

I searched through the forums and could not find this - although I did see tons of discussion regarding the custom rails.

So what I have here is a primary fuel rail that looks nothing like any other I have seen, and no-oine else can tell me where it comes from.

The rail looks very much like a secondary rail - 1/2" tubing with a pulsation dampener at one end, and the inlet at the other. This rail hawever is one piece - the dampener cannot be removed from the side-feed injector housing as it is all one piece. The fuel return port is also part of the pulsation dampener body.

I have this motor in a sand rail, so model / year that this motor came from is unknown.

My problem is of course that the dampener is leaking.

I have attempted replacement with a stock rail, but the larger "block" style injector housing that does accept the removeable dampener does not fit.

I am left then with 2 choices that I am aware of:

1 - use some custom rails (KG Parts) and different injectors because mine are not 14mm

2 - cut off the pulsation dampener end of the rail, and cap it somehow.

I have a microtech ECU, so presumably changing injectors does not pose too much of a problem.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance~!

Cut it off and weld it shut. Use an aermotive a1000-6 fuel pressure regulator for the dampening. You will then remove your stock fuel pressure regulator too..

Thanks for your quick response!

Because that end also has the return fuel line to the tank, should I not provide a connector there rather than just closing it off?

Yes. Put a fitting in place of the FPR and connect the return line to it. If you don't plan on retuning the motor, make sure you check the base fuel pressure before adding the new fuel pressure regulator and adjust the new one to the same pressure. The aeromotive unit is adjustable, buy a gauge with it..
