do i need any special tools to install a c's short shifter

im asking cause i got my short shifter the other day and my car is still in the shop getting a new clutch and a clutch fork. so i guess if it does require special tools i would just take the shifter to the shop and have them install it while they at it, but if not i would just install it myself. the shop is out of the way and is such a hassle to get to.

thanks

No special tools needed. I needed a pry bar as a "special tool" because I had to use it to move the tranny slightly from the inside so I could get to the upper left bolts. It took all of 20 minutes to install.

Yeah 3 hex screws

4---10mm bolts and I think PRESTO

It might depend on which one you get. Just make sure you put the rubber seal back and bolt it down, and keep the little foam pieces if they are still under the shift boot.

Oh, one more recommendation - If you've read the instructions that came with the C's, you're probably a little confused by it. My instructions were faded and illegible, but I figured out that it's very important to use all the pieces that came with it - Something wasn't right when I had leftover parts.

well the short shifter is installed in my car now and i have to say it really does do a lot. the shift throws are so short and my shifter isnt loose anymore i use to be able to jiggle it around now its stiff. its a little harder to shift the gears now but i guess its cause im not used to it yet, but i guess that also has to do with the 6 puck clutch i got in there and me being new to stick shifts. I guess in retrospect i should have waited till i got better at shifting before putting the short shifter in there but i figured what the hell while im in there might as. So in conclusion, very cool upgrade.
