i took the shifter rod out. make sure you dont lose any of the bushings or get gear oil all over your car. basically i just wrapped a towl around the big ball on the bottom of the shift rod, put it in a vise, put a pair of vise grips on it a twisted the top off, you can see where the threaded part of the shift rod is cast and the only thing holding it on is the rubber sleeve inside it, its just a pressed fit. after that all thats left is a rod and i just tapped the end of it with a tap and die set and screwed on the shift ****, ill brb and get a pick of the part i took off the shift rod.

it twists right off, and the other half you just use a tap and die so you can thread on your shift ****, it makes a really short throw, its really nice. i didnt feel like spending 200 bucks to buy one, im still not sure if its a true short shifter though?

Tell us how it feels on the car, and if it vibrates or anything like that, if it vibrates you may want to weigh it down, a good way would be to get some of those stick on weights the tire shops use on the inside of rims. And another thing- hide your stereo wires for christs sakes!
