Default Newbie hello and.. Help ;L

Right so firstly let me introduce myself

I'm Luke (: I like cars and stuff.. I'm based in Surrey (uk) I brought a mazda mx5 two years ago as a drift slag and quickly became attached!
I knew the car wasn't going to last forever due to massive rust issues, I just finished parting it out yesterday and was without a car since I took it off the road!

I placed an add on gumtree for an Rex or 13 rolling shell for a project
Two weeks ago yesterday I relieved an email from a lady asking if I was still after a rx7, which ofcourse I said yes! She put me in contact with her husband who in turn rang me

He said there was a problem with what he was offering.. It wasn't a rolling shell ):
Infact it was a complete fd!! The price he wanted I couldn't say no.. Even if I had to be borrow and steal I couldn't not buy it for that price

Ofcourse for the price there was always going to be problems ): sadly I don't know enough about a rotor motto to tell if it were requiring a rebuild

The car is totally standard twin turbo 5 speed, it ticks over but as soon as it comes under load it will misfire terribly
Due to this I wasn't able to go pick the car up, the gent is going to deliver it to me!

I just want to know if it's a case of service or I'm a going to pay out for a rebuild?

There car is only on 70,000 but as I say I know nothing of these cars ): any help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks
Luke

Welcome to club. Sounds like you have a fuel pressure problem , could be pump ,or regulator or blocked fuel filter .I would check fuel pressure first. then filter .

Brilliant thanks for the reply (:
Being new to the lack of pistons I wasn't sure where to start and all ever heard about the 13bs is the **** themselves a lot.. I didn't know if this were the case :L when I first paid the deposit on the fd I was umming and arrring wether to keep the engine where it belongs or swap it out for pistons!
Where I have a lot of time to procrastinate about it (mainly looking at 13b's on YouTube)
I can't do it.. Even if it requires a full rebuild I have to keep the ingenuity that went into these little engines

If it's the case of requiring a rebuild I've been looking into the pineapple racing and Atkins rotary kits
Is there any particular kits I should stay away from? Also if it needs a rebuild what's the likelihood of needing new rotor housings? Or is it more of a pull it apart and see

Looking at a couple of guides you don't need a trained eye to see if the housing needs replacing?

Again thankyou for the reply

Luke
