Unhappy

I am having problems with my 94 RX. It stalled the other day after running rough for a few seconds. I drove it to work in the morning and that eventing when I was going home is when the problem occured. I have not been able to get it starded since then. It turns over good and will fire from time to time but not consitently.

I have verified that it is getting spark. I have seen that the fule pump is working, but I still have to check pressure.

Does anone have any ideas? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Before you check the fuel pressure, I would go with Vosko and change the fuel filter(unless you have recently) it's should be done anyway. Then if you have the same problem, check pressure. From your description of the problem, it doe's sound like a fuel problem. A clogged filter is common due to the fact the none wants to deal with changing that sucker. a royal PIA

I am also running into the same problem. Except sometimes I have to pump the gas to get the car started. How often should the fuel filter be changed? ???

I'll check Mazda's recomended interval @ work tomorrow, but 30,000mi intervals would be ideal. ofcourse if you pick up a tank of bad gas that can clog a filter in 1 shot

Still working on it but I found at least one bad plug and saw that some of the plug wires were bad (sparking). I am still waiting on the wires so I will know more in a few days.

Thanks,

Mark

Red face

With new plugs and wires it started up right away. Now I am seeing quite a bit of smoke from the tail pipe. I am not sure if this is something I caused or this is the origial reason for it not running in the first place. I did take the intake manafold off to look at a few things while I was wating for the plugs and wires to come in. Anyone know if I could of caused the smoke by missing a connection under thie intake manaford?

Thanks,

Mark

white or blue smoke? does it keep smoking after you drive it, or just on warm up?

It looks like it was just a false alarm. The smoke went away after a few minutes. You now how it is when you first get something back togeather and see smoke, you asume something is wrong.

Thanks for all the replies,

Mark

It may have just been due to all the unburnt fuel. Glad to hear all is well now
