going more in depth, which I Realized I didnt do. There are two wires that come off the ashtray light, so you have your ground and white wire connection, just try one on one wire, and the other on the other, and if it doesnt light it up, then flip it around.



To get to the ash tray light, you can start to pull up on the center piece where the ashtray is. U will hear a snapping noise, but it isnt the clips breaking, its just them popping loose. Ive taken mine off a good 5-10 times and ive never broken anything.

Running to the ashtray light will work fine for the mechanical D-gauge, but if you get any more D-gauges they are electrical. I thought the FD pulsed to ground on the dash lights to allow dimming? Since the ground on the electrical gauges is shared between lighting and ignition power, I don't think using the ashtray lighting will work on those.
