How Do You Check To See If The Coil Pack Is Good?

haha
Yeah my coils cost me $500 I think for a set, I cant remember.
They went shorty after putting in an Ignition AMP, bummer.
If they are split, they are probably TOAST
Aftermarket ones are HELL-O-CHEAP, Mazda of course isnt.
There is actually a test in the shop manual, but the word is it doesnt work for POOP, since it can say they are bad when they arent and say they are good when they arent. BUMMER
The Guy never reponded, is it fixed? When is the miss-fire? Underload? Its pretty easy to find where a miss-fire is coming from just sitting in park.

Besides checking for resistance across the terminals I have another way I check them. Coils have a primary and secondary charge system. The primary charge brings in a 12 volt charge, while the primary charge is happening(it takes milliseconds) it gives the secondary charge inside the coil enough time to generate and create a strong 40,000 plus voltage charge when it fires out the coil. When the secondary charge goes bad inside the coil, it does not fire strong enough. This is visually observed when you take a spark plug wire coming out of the coil and ground it to any part of the car while somebody cranks the engine over. If you don't want to take a risk and get shock using my conventional way, auto parts have testers, its a spark plug looking tester that the spark plug wire goes into then you ground the tester and visually check for high voltage. Man this sounds like something straight out of a frankenstein Movie.
