The problem is that the screws do NOTHING. The throttle adjust stop screw is not even touching the stop and the idle mixture screw, the one on the throttle body, has no effect whether closed or full open. . . . .hence the problem!

Yup. I haven't fully inspected the TB yet, but my guess is there is something wrong with it.. Not sure what, but I can't find leaks or anything anywhere else... And the TB is the only thing I replaced when I installed the new engine..

Another day of driving, and the surging hasn't come back (But again, I havent hit 86C yet either.. )

Ain't this a bitch. I took off my PCV valve and did as you told me.. pluged both holes and threw the pcv valve out. I started the car and after like 40 sec or so, idle started going up and down. It drops down as it's going to shut off and then back up to 1k and so on.

So i put the damn pcv valve back on, which is leaking a little. And it idles fine. What a **** is that all about? Why can't I remove that so called passage 2 that 95 fd's don't even have?

Amel,

The 2 lines on the filler neck get vented, not plugged. You can vent them to a catch can or something..

Also, you need to plug the line on the UIM that the PCV went to.

I have no idea what caused your surging though.. Thats odd.

I didn't touch the line coming from the primary turbo inlet pipe. So I assumed that i can cap the line that the pcv valve went to. I did plug the UIM and the Oil filler neck and it started idling poorly. Right now i have put that PCV crap back on and it idles fine. It's pissing me off. I now know how you feel

Just another place you might wanna check to adjest some more plates is the screw that runs horizontal close to very top front side of the TB. One time mine was open just a tad cause alot of air to go in through the sec plates. Just a thought.

mine surges....... I leave mine at 1500 rpm idle. I don't have time to mess with that little ****

I'm probably the only one that's gotten a ticket for my car running at idle.

The below is an answer I received off of rxclub.com about at vague as the british weather. Is it worth the mods making this a sticky as so much people seem to have idle issue with there pfc, rather than having lots of different idle issue thread with scattered info we can have one sticky like this that has very useful info on what people can always refer to ??

I've said this time and time again, and it seems that no one understands that with a PFC when you have a ported motor, the idle map will fall under a different vaccum at idle, this is what is causing the fluctuation of idle, the ONLY way to correct this is NOT by the idle screw, or any supposed "learning" that the PFC must do. The ONLY way to correct this is to TUNE YOUR CAR PROPERLY in the ranges of where this is happening with the Datalogit, END OF STORY!
