Hey guys,

my 1993 RHD engine needs a rebuild. I want to go single turbo in future, thought of a GT35R BB turbo.

I was going to get a Big-Streetport (biggest possible without bothering about emissions), but then i was wondering if it would be right to get a big-streetport with a "middle"-size turbo?

What do you suggest?

a portjob to match a turbo

or a big-streetport without bothering about the turbo size?

maybe there is a way to match a big streetport with the "right" GT35? (bigger A/R etc.)?

How much power could it produce with a big-streetport?

i am sorry for my bad grammatics.. hope you know what i mean.

I am looking forward to all replys.

here are some specs:

1993 Type-RZ

greddy Profec-B SpecII

greddy SMIC

2 additional 550injectors

Apexi PowerFC

Full SS 3" with mid-pipe

I don't like doing the BIG streetports on street cars. The cars become too peaky and they are much harder to run lower boost levels in the higher rpms. I would just stick to a small or medium streetport, it really depends on how people are doing the porting really. Don't increase overlap( go towards water jacket on intake ports( the side the faces the runners) and don't go up on the exhaust ports). Unless you're really looking for just ultimate power. The bigger the ports generally the bigger the turbine a/r, and compressor...

Gt35R will do 4-500rwhp, 15-20+psi.

...you can even bridgeport and it will match the GT35, as said, its just a case of what type of GT35 you choose...

...i've seen some nice results from GT3582R's with 1.06 turbine, and the worked fine with bridgeports....and yes, it will affect idling aso.,but it depends on the driver what he thinks what is "streetable"...

Another thing to take into consideration is making sure you know what your long term goals will be for the car so you are not doing stuff twice. I am not saying that a big street port or bridge port is the way to go as everybodys opinion is different, but if done to begin with then you will never wish it would have been done. IMO I think the porting needs to match the owner first then the turbo as it will effect alot of different aspects of the car.

On the other hand sounds like you are on the right track for a sweet setup! Good Luck

I agree!! I have I guess what you can call a big street port on a 62-1 and its a fun car reliable car. I would base it off of your plans for the car. If you wanting to touge, drag or what ever your poison is i would work on setting the car up to those specifics.
