The FD is a street legal sports car just like the S2K. For 60k I could buy something better than an FD.

i raced an s2000 last night in my 92 RX7, i was changing at 6k and still pushing him down the road.

The rx is quicker, by alot. and more driveable too as you dont have to wait till 9 million RPM for the power.

yeah but the FDs power band is wider. the s2k gets power at high rpms, but the fd gets power when you start boosting, then goes til redline.

the s2k has little mod power potential short of an sc anyway. You cant just do exhaust and intake to get some power. but it is more reliable.

Torque is not that big of an issue in these light cars, where tracktion with low end torque becomes a problem. V8 converted Rx-7 have this problem and to a certain degree 20b's. Also if check out the dyno section you will see most modded Rx-7 are make lots of torque.

On topic if you have to ask you should go with the S2000. Leave the Rx-7's for those who have passion for them.

Exactly what I've been trying to figure out how to say. If there is a choice, then the FD is not for you. The only thing that's kept me from putting a remote throttle servo on my FD and seeing how fast she'll fly across the desert minus one driver is the fact that I know no other car will make me so happy when she works right.
