Fd As Your Daily Driver?
#21
I'll sell you my FC. It's not some super-tuned race car, and for it being my first-ever rotary, I've learned alot about the car in a short amount of time. It's not modded enough to be some high-advanced car that requires a manual just to start the damn thing, but I like it, and the only thing that would even make me sell it, is a fat check with my name on it.

to keep the FD as a comfortable daily driver, you just have to limit your mods to reliability mods, and limit your redlines and not race every civic that you see
Mine is a DD during the summer months only. I put about 6k a year. 63k right now on an R1 (2 oil coolers). Wrapped DP, Hi-flo CAT, Greddy SP Cat-back, K& N, Fan mod, soon to have Miata thermoswitch and Fluidyne. Plus some suspension bits if that counts. Otherwise, pretty stock.

My dad daily drives his FD about 60 miles a day.
His mods are:
Petitt Intake
Pettit Downpipe
Greddy Cat Back
Boost guage
Pettit reliabilty upgrades - engine grounded/plastic expansion tank replaced w/ metal one/ new fuel filter / new plugs / wires
Boosts 7-10 PSI.
He catches a race when he can usually taking out BMW's and Boxters.
He has been Daily Driving it for over a year now problem free.

ohh yeah i 95% of the time run at whatever the boost the stock wastegate is set for ~ 7 lbs i think. hardly ever redline it and take it easy, maybe too easy when driving. even at the track, hence the 15.2 quarter mile time.
only street raced my friends civic with gsr swap. if u wanna call it a race...
mods came with the car: boost timer, boost controller, power fc, fmic, radiator, fan switch mod, non seq, j&s sensor, pulley kit and suspension. i think thats all.
only thing that sucks are roads and insurance.

I just got my car back and I've been daily driving it. I've only put 650miles on the new motor.
I have :
Mazda Reman
Intake
full 3inch turbo back exhaust
Greddy pulley kit
DNA boost controller
koyo radiator
front sway bar
racing hart 17x8s
rx7.com reprogrammed ECU
Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors
stainless steal break lines
and Ive done the full NoN-seq.
Granted I'm still in the break end period and havent floored the car or taken it past 4,000 (and thats when I'm feeling froggy). It already feels soo strong. I baby the car and keep a gallon of water with me at all times and still gonna buy a fire extingisher for it.
