Im gonna be in the market for a new car pretty soon. And I want either a FD or T2. But if I get an FD I wont be able to afford a dd. So I am asking how many of you guys use your FDs as daily drivers, and what mods you have, miles on the chasis/engine etc.

My first FD I drove as a daily driver for 3 years. Had every bolt on known to man and a big single turbo.

Mine's my daily driver.

49,000 miles on chasis

8,000 miles on motor

street port

12 psi

3" turbo-back exhaust

pettit ecu

pettit intakes

pettit tkt pulleys

It's a bit pricey on gas. As much as you'll love the FD, you may want to consider the T2 with a daily driver that's good on gas. Gas is really hurting me right now.

The t2 I had last year got about 13-14 mpg an FD should do better than that right? My problem with getting a t2 is that i cant seem to find a nice one thats somewhat close to stock, but i have found several fd's that are in good condition with rebuilt or low mileage engines. Believe me I would rather spen 4-6k for a t2 then 13-18k for a fd.

to keep the FD as a comfortable daily driver, you just have to limit your mods to reliability mods, and limit your redlines and not race every civic that you see

I bought my stock FD with 113,000 miles on the body and 30,000 on the engine. Since then I've added only a turbo timer, aluminum AST, and a downpipe and plug wires have been in the mail for like a month now..... It's a daily driver and hasn't ever given me too much trouble. Gas is a little rough but I average around 210 miles on a full tank if I drive sensibly.

pending on his mod intentions...

tii can deplete as much fuel if not more than the fd..

my ol tii with full exhaust consumed more fuel than that of my fd with similar mods...

imho would not recommend either the fd or fc for a dd...

unless they remain stock with a spare set of snow tires...
