My e-brake light comes on during heavy acceleration.

Anybody have any idea why and how I can fix it?

Is this a common problem?

Thanks

There are 2 typical reasons for this. First being you are low on brake fluid, check your reservoir and fill it up if necessary. Second could be the E-brake handle attachment has become "loose." Unfortunately I cannot elaborate more on the 2nd possibility, so someone is going to have to take over where I left off.

The brake fluid is ok. So could someone elaborate on the loose handle attachment?

Thanks

if you think about the way the e-brake handle moves when you set it...it is being thrown back/set by heavy acceleration...you need to tighten the handle under the console.

Have you tried heavy acceleration while holding the e-brake in the off possition...this will test my theory.

Good news- It happens because your car is fast-

Mine did that- you have to tighten the e-brake handle-

It looks like the ebrake handle was the culprit. I held it down and it didn't come on.

So is my ebrake really going on, or is it just the light.

Its really just the light. One click (if that) will not engage the ebrake.
