When E Light Comes On

[quote name='AgentSpeed' date='Aug 21 2005, 02:55 PM']You got me, mine's never came on. I've only been below 1/4 tank a few times before a fill up.

Same for me usually, but as of late with the way petrol prices are at the moment I seem to be getting the E light a little more often. I should just fill up I'm just delaying the inevitable.

It depends if you're boosting or not. This past year a guy ran out of gas at Deal's Gap and had no issues. I've also got a buddy that blew his engine from having a low tank and loosing suction while cornering. He was boosting.

all the dirt and other debris that is in your tank becomes concentrated when your gas is low. everything that the stainer keeps away from your pump. so i guess as the concentration gets higher, the more chance that it gets sucked through the strainer.
and also the chance of going lean while at boost.... very dangerous

Both make sense it just seems that I have heard more horror stories of engine damage from running out of gas with a rotary engine, personally I don't trust any gas gauge, when that needle gets past a quarter tank low, i'm looking for a station to fill up, even though it is costing nearly and hour's wages to do it lately!
