Why, Clutch, Why?

Why did Mazda put such a POS clutch setup in the S6? Put it all back together with new clutch, new snap ring etc, assembled on the floor with the motor, goes together without any problems, and this morning finish bleeding clutch circuit, test pedal and pop! No clutch. I assume the bearing has come away from the pressure plate.
Any ideas why this has happened? It was in and secure when put together...

Remove the inspection cover on the bell housing and have a look.
Or did you forget to close the bleeder valve?

Fork/thrust bearing came away from pressure plate. Appeared to be all correct when assembled. New clip etc. Oh well, try, try again!
I just wanted somewhere to vent my frustration as I was also working on my wife's car today. Nissan Bluebird 2 litre turbo awd 4 cyl. Dead starter motor, which lives under the inlet manifold in an east-west motor. 9am-1.30 pm just to get the starter out. And it's not that I'm not mechanically able- it was designed never to be removed unless the motor was out of the car. Makes me appreciate the little things in life like rear wheel drive layouts for serviceability...
Oh, and I choose to ignore the bleeder valve comment!
