always wondered if this is a detriment...

cant help but wonder if this has any contributions..although slight..

to all the cracked diff housings ive seen..

I would never do it. Not saying that you can't. I just don't jack up cars with IRS from the chunk. Plenty of more easy spots from which to do it.

The rear differential housing is given as a jacking point in the shop manual.
