Unhappy

well, it was bound to happen, after some nice 2nd gear doughnuts the other day

in the work parking lot... my car pushed through turns as if the diff was locked,

then pulling into my driveway the inside wheel bucked and I heard a loud clunking

from the diff. Next morning tried changing the fluid and found a nice chunk of

a gear tooth on the magnetic plug. I've already ordered a rear end from mazda dismantling to swap into my car, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with any of the LSD 'upgrades' like the torsen unit, or maybe one of these kaaz

or other aftermarket replacements. I'm planning on rebuilding mine with new clutches and replacing any broken gears I have while driving on the unit from mazda dismantling, but I am pretty rough on the car (doughnuts, drag racing, just

beat on it quite a bit in general) and wouldnt mind spending some extra cash for a more durable unit, any input appreciated.

I've heard that the Kaaz LSD is really good. You should upgrade to a 4:30 ratio too. It'll give you better off the line acceleration.

The Torsen units are supposed to be a little weak. The KAAZ is very strong, but it makes clicking noises that may annoy some people.

I know that the 3rd gen Torsen rears have a tendency to break with alot of drag launches, etc. TII rears don't seem to break as often.

I picked up a standard rear end from a junkyard out of a 90 GXL for $200, the car feels totally different now compared to the LSD unit., I miss my LSD I'm waiting on an LSD unit from mazda dismantling we'll see how that goes.

I would have given you one for $100, but I guess it's too late now.
