I recently started having startup problems. The car wont turn over. It cranks but wont start. After about 5 tries turning the key it finally starts up. Other times it starts up fine. I have a brand new battery, the voltage on the alternator is good. Just replaced the spark plugs. Will be replacing the spark plug wires this weekend, hopefully that will help. It doesnt seem like it is a fuel problem because the engine is getting gas, if i tap the pedal it starts to chug, but it just wont turn over. Im thinking its ignition but what else could it be if the spark wires dont solve the problem? Maybe a fuel problem like a dirty fuel filter, or clogged injectors, or maybe its not getting enough gas at start up? Need help please

 

does it chug like the battery is low or does it just not start? if it seems like the battery is low then id double check your connections on the battery, etc.

it tries to start but doesnt. i cant really explian the noise any better than chug chug chug haha sorry. its that sound when you turn the key and the car wont start. maybe erererererer. haha then it goes chug blub blub chug likes its trying to start but not. then back to the erererererer noise. that most likely confused even more but i tried.

ok well i know for sure the battery is not dead. its brand new. and the chug noise is definately not a lost apex. the car runs great with lots of power. its just the startup more times than others is quite difficult. the noise it makes is hard to explain. well just say it seems like its not getting enough gas, because i have to pump the gas to get it going. im going to change out the fuel filter tonight and see if that helps out. im not very good at imitating sounds, future reference
