Unhappy

whenever i am producing boost, i hear an air noise that increases with the amount of boost. someone suggested that it might be a leak in the intercooler pipe couplings, yet i managed a 14.1 on the quarter, so i don't think i'm losing power. any ideas?

Do you have a boost gauge? What is it showing? Do you hear the noise when you are accelerating as well as decelerating?

First place I would check is the rubber ic pipes. Take them off and look them over real good. You may want to flex them a little to see if there is a big hole in there somewhere. If that's not it you're probably going to have to track down a hose that blew off somewhere. One other place you could try is the y-pipe. Being plastic, they have a tendency to crack also.

Thats kinda what i was thinking. The blow off vales have a surge sound when boosting right before they vent. I thought there was something wrong with my car the first time I heard them. But I was getting full boost so ...
