Battery Keeps Dying
#1
Im not sure whats going on, its intermitant. Was close to dead then it wasnt. Now it is again.
Its a new optima dry cell. I'm guessing its alternator related but none of the lights are coming on in the dash like they usually do with alternator problems.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Maybe the wires or the plugs are bad so sometimes it does not make good contact and charge the battery.. But if you can drive the car to an autoparts store like autozone they can test the alternator for free.. Maybe a lose belt..

My alternator was actually draining the battery when the engine wasn't running. Charged just fine, but with extended garage time the battery would go dead. Finally noticed a faint buzzing from the alternator when it wasn't running one day. Sure enough, alternator was pooched.
