Auto to manual, I don't know, did any of you guys drill through a firewall before. It's a real bitch. LOL
You do not have to drill threw the firewall.

Here are a couple of links: http://www.jrx7.com/auto5speedswap.htm

conversion

The parts can be bought for $1000-$2000, depending how patient you are

and what kinda deals you find. I spent like $1300 on the parts. Ive got everything i need. Just need to put everything together, when I put the engine back in. Its gonna be worth every penny. The auto sucks donkey dicks!

I'll post some

more info later. Feel free to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer.

Hell for $2000.00 you can have a wicked automatic.................. Stall speed plus bullet proof parts........... If your going to spend that kinda money spend it so parts will last instead of buying some one elses p.o.s......................Cuz you do the swap and another year later that one breaks....... Right vosko j/p

Hey Brad, you're telling me that in order to pull the clutch pedal into the interior, no firewall modification is needed? I don't quite understand, I mean aren't the brake pedal and accel. pedal going through the firewall?

Nope. There is already a whole there. Its covered with a

little brass looking plate, two bolts. Take it out...put the clutch on oneside and the master cylinder on the other side.

The brake pedal replaces the old one.

But, it was a cramped area to work in. And very aggravating!

I just wanted to thank everyone for there input. I looked further into this and it looks like my trans pump quit I have a high fluid level when the car is running. I got a deal from my Mazda parts guy a reman is $1672 included everything. The oil pump itself is $592. I can't decide stick or keep the auto I hate the auto . Everyone always tells me MAN that's a sweet car then they look inside and give me that look of dissapointment. I'm not a big automatic person but the deal was right and the car is mint . Can't have everything I guess. Anyway any other links to info on the swap would be great I'll update you guys and contact the ones that went through the conversion.

Ahhh see, I wasn't totaly wrong. My car doesn't have anything like that, I was gonna switch to a stick in my car and when I saw the firewall and all the **** I had to go through to pull the clutch pedal through, I decided it wasn't worth it. Thanks for the info.

an automatic trans is quite honestly the easiest thing in the world to repair if you know what you're doing, it costs like a couple hundred dollars to do it yourself thats with replacing all seals and clutches inside the trans.

this isnt very much related to the actual topic as much as it's just to let you guys know that tranny shops make so much profit off a trans rebuild lol.
