Does anyone know where I can get my auto transmission on my 93 fixed. Today it started making a whinning noise now it will not go into any gear including reverse. Does anyone know how much it will cost just for the trans? Any help would be great. Ron

if you go to a rebuild shop, it could cost a minimum of about 1000$.......if i were you, i would go to carparts online and see if they have what you need. some of them are in great shape and depending IF they have an rx7 tranny in the first place, some have warranties.....

i'd probably say just get a brand new automatic.... they are expensive and hard to repair!

now is the time to switch to 5 speed!

a 5sp would be optimal, but you would need to know exactly what you needed to do the job. ie, consult a REAL rotary mechanic and asess what the task requires.....there are a few different vacuum lines and a computer that you would not need anymore....

i had my auto for my 89 rebuilt for 1400

I hope that was 14 bucks, for 1,400 I would have switched to manual...

yeah i didnt have time or anyone to do the swap. this is my daily driver, i have school and work

Thanks for the help, Now for the next BIG favor, I hate having a auto and I was really pissed today when it quit . I spent all day detailing it and drove it a mile. I looked everywhere on how to convert the car and what will I need and what problems will I run into. ( I CAN'T FIND ANYHTING)I do all my work myself I just need a little help on what I'm getting into. Does anyone know of a web site?? Or could anyone help. If it will cost me a few grand to get another auto I'll spent the money to get it converted. Do anyone do that kind of work. I live in NY by the way. The car is Mint so it's worth it to me to make it a stick. Any further help again would be aprreciated. Ron

Auto to manual, I don't know, did any of you guys drill through a firewall before. It's a real bitch. LOL
