What about loosing coolant but not seeing any puddles? Can the water pump be bad or have a leak? I can't see any leaks but I have to fill about 8oz of water every day when I get the light. I just fill it first thing in the morning now.
I hate to break the news to you man but it sounds like your coolant seals are starting to fail.

If your getting a rough idle and white smoke at start up and have to keep adding coolant then most likely its the coolant seals..

I have some good info about this subject in detail on my website.

Under Tech info.

Does anyone think that this could be a bad coolant level sensor?

YES. the ast should be full too. it will help the dispersion of the coolant if there are any shortages anywhere....

Check your hoses, especially the lower rad hose.

Also like i was saying the coolant level sensor.

check the small hose that comes off of the bottom of the AST. i had a problem once where mine was flappin around and the fan blades chewed it up....i would see coolant for about 3 or 4 minutes at a time, and then it would stop once the pressure evened out......so it won't be something that you see all the time if it is from that lower hose.....

Your overflow tank is cracked in the filler neck... I think. It happened to me.

Not expensive to replace.
