Did you connect the plastic tube that goes from the air cleaner to the throttle body nice and tight ? Even the nuts that go to the throttle body from that tube?

I experienced a similar problem, replaced the wires, unflooded the engine, cleaned the plugs, car started and ran. But my coils has the correct resistance when tested.

If you can smell fuel, you probably still have it flooded. I hooked my car up to some jumper cables and turned it over for a good 10-15 minutes with the inj. fuse pulled before putting the fuse back in. First attempt to start with the fuse in and flames shot out the back burning all the fuel that had accumulated in the exhaust system. A timing light can also be useful for detecting spark, but if you have good wires like magnecor's an inductive light probably won't sense any spark.

how should i check for spark and as for fuel well i can smell it
this is the best way to check for spark. hold the end of the spark plug wire while someone tries to start the car. it works really well

Now I don't feel as dumb...so far everybody has suggested stuff I thought of too...I think I might be actually learning more about ignition, lol. I should be in the chat room later tonight(11pmEST) if you need to talk some more blue13omber.

Just stick your finger in the coil. I've done that.

hey guys finally fixed it. turn out i was putting the fuse back into the wrong slot (they arent labeled on my car) h34r: boy i feel like a dumba$$. once i got spark again (thanks to graham, my little brother, for detecting this for me ) i did the atf trick and pop started my car (the battery was real low by this time) and it ran

thanks for all the help and advice i had almost given up but now we're together again and the world seems like a much better place

also to anyone who hasn't experienced thechat room i would suggest you try it. it is pretty awesome no where else can i converse with a bunch rotor heads. :bigok:
