When my car was running I noticed a crack in the windshield. I never really bothered with it and now it is getting much bigger. I have read around that people have experienced the same thing. Mine cracked right by the wiper blades. What could be causing this. It has sat for a while of course. But I never found out what made it crack like that. The car was sitting in a parking lot and i come out and it was cracked.

What makes the windshield do this? Pressure?

if the window pillar/sills start rusting the rust will essentially grow (bubble) and expand/twist the windsheild. Anywhere the windsheild has a small nick or chip it will start the crack there and the crack won't stop. It get's worse. BTW teh windsheild is a structural member of the car.

that seems to be the problem with it. the outer weather stripping is really chipped all over, and below the wipers(whatever the thing is called) is rusted a bit. thanks for the info.

small chips get bigger with changes in temperature

they always start out small and work thier way across the windshield.

rust has nothing to do with it, it can happen to cars that are a month old

The Fd is going to PFS next week. I was just waiting on Ray to get the dyno installed in the new shop. They were digging a hole for it last weekend so I guess they will have it done this coming weekend.

You should just buy some bs motor that runs and get that car out of your driveway.

I have thought of doing that. The block is pretty much pulled obviously. My tattoo artist actually has an engine hoist I can borrow from him so maybe I will pull the damn thing out finally.

Hey, drums are for sale. You got 2500 they are yours.
