My windshield wipers were not working, after tracing down the problem , I found that the problem is with the actual windshield wiper arms, they appear to be stuck. I'm currently soaking them with WD40 , but was wondering if anyone else had any ideas or experince with this.

Hi Keo, wooffinn from downunder. My series one has a very similar problem as I live about a mile from the ocean. Without operating for a while, surface rust seizes the arms. There technically should be bushings in the pivots, but with age they disappear! Suppose you could by another assembly, but I've found, as you've said, a good soak in that magic WD40 stuff usually does the trick!!

I got one side unfrozen, The part that is frozen is the one where you have the cylinder with threads that is slid on top of the none threaded cylidnar. These two pieces make up the bolt that the windshield wiper arm is attached to.

Even though I was only able to unstick one, I was able to loosen the other bolt, so that the entire bolt turns. Not the best solution but now at least my wipers work.

Now to figure out what is wrong with my back wiper.

I will tell you what worked great for me.I pulled the wiper assembly loose from the motor(out of the car) and heated the threaded area at a low temp while drowning it with WD40 and working it back and forth.Worked great and all I have to do is lubricate the shaft every once in a while.Good luck...Doug
