A new FD owner emailed me the following question. Can someone help? My R2 has no rear wiper. Thanks!! fritz

"Have you ever had any problems with your rear-winshield wiper ? Mine sorta

moves but not really, and I can tell that the screw is loose but when I

tighten it, movement ceases completly. I found a replacement but I don't

want to drop the $40 if it's something I can fix myself."

r1 and r2 models don not have them. just take the nut off of the wiper and get rid of that unsightly thingy...

it comes in handy if you have a tinted rear window and a lot of rain... if not, shave away!

On the freeway, it does nothing because of the angle of the hatch back (you don't need it at 60mph). At night you can use the wiper to clear the rear windows intead of a paper towel (nice). In heavy street rain it comes in handy (anyone live in WA state). R1 and R2's did not have rear wipers and have no idea if it was optional on a base model.
