Ok, lately, my car has developed a problem, which has been gettin worse. The first thing, is that the tacho keeps dropping out. First it only did it when i hit the limiter, now it seems to do it whenever it bloody feels like it. Second, off-boost, the car is sluggish to drive around, feels like its not driving right. Also at the top of the rev range, the limiter "bangs" are faster and come in earlier then the usual limiter.

Driving around in a high gear, slowly, at low revs, causes the car to jerk violently and backfire. Once it backfired so hard it caused the car to stall in the middle of the road. It also does this at the top of the rev range.

So far i have - Changed both coilpacks - same problem, if not worse.

Changed the ignition leads - no difference

Changed the spark plugs - No difference

Taken the injectors out and had them cleaned - no difference.

Anyone had this happen before? Or does anyone have a CLUE as to what it could be??? Im sure the tacho and backfiring issue is linked somehow...

any feedback would be great

thanks guys
