Went To Look At A Tii Today
Saw the ad in the local trader. 1988 Mazda RX-7 turbo, not running.
Turns out the car is an old autocross dog. The body was actually pretty good. No dents, few scratches, little faded on top. Blue-gray-silver color. Looked like the original paint job. The interior was ratted up a bit, and I thought all TII's had leather seats??? This one's cloth, but someone may have worn out the leather and replaced them. Motor blown, presume apex seal, 136,000 showing. It had a downpipe, wrapped with insulation, stock TID, FCD, K & N filter, new stock clutch, and some kind of spark/fuel computer.
It wasn't pretty enough to justify buying it just to put a motor in it and sell it. I'd buy it for an all-out drag car, but with a baby on the way I don't have the money, and I soon won't have the time to mess with it.
Anybody interested? The car is in Richmond, VA, just off Route 60 on the south side.
