[quote name='Baldy' date='Apr 18 2005, 01:48 PM']I realized something this weekend. We had gone to the beach, and decided to leave the top down, and put purse/wallet/radio face in the trunk. But the stupid trunk release is in plain view. I guess there's no way to make it so the trunk can only be opened with the key? I mean besides disconnecting the cable.

yeah you can lock the trunk by turning the key to the left. also, leaving the windows up leaves a lot of the inside unreachable, so leave them up with the alarm on and it will discourage most theives

the turning the key to the left thing is a valet feature. doing this diables the trunk release and you can not open it with the valet key, something most people dont have(but i do), so if you have the car valeted (sp?) they cant get in with the key they have or the release

Did you get a chance to fix it? I forgot to try and duplicate the problem on my car when I got home.

It went up today. We did nothing. I just got home from driving it around and thought....Hmmmm.....I'll try it again. And it went up. But we still need to fix the light(brake). I hated it being down. Fl, spring, a lot of pollen.

I have the same strange issue, you can manually put the top up and down, there is a phillips screw on each side, turn it to release the motors.
