When I first bought my car, the vert top didn't work just a quiet clicking noise, like a relay. It was still such a deal I figured I would just mess with it after I bought the car. I don't know what happened, but one day it started working. It worked fine for the rest of summer and through winter (when I used it). Then the other day I let a friend of mine drive it (with me of course!), he asked to put the top down. When I went to put the top down, I got nothing. It is doing the exact same thing it did when i first bought the car, when I turn the switch I hear, what sounds like a relay clicking or something, no beeps or movement. I don't know what it is but I hope one of you might have an idea.

Im assuming you had the parking break on. The clutch screws on the top motors haven't been molested, have they?

 

No the motors havn't been messed with at all. I removed all the interior panels to try and find the clicking noise, but thats it. The brake was on...BUT...the diagnostic harness under the hood...I checked all the wires going into the harness, all but the brake switch wire WASN'T working. Although that might keep it from going down, it should still at least beep. So I don't know what it is but my gut tells me it is wiring...IT IS ALWAYS WIRING!!!
