what color smoke and is it at normal operating temps or is it just at start up? most smoke, hell even the rx-8 smokes on start up due to the amount of oil forced in for cold start. so you need to be a bit more spusific.

ALL VEHICLES ARE LIKE THIS! Jesus christ. This question gets really really annoying. You should only panic when you have smoke when you are driving normally, at a stop light and go, etc. Hell, even a car 1 MILE on the odometer will smoke a small amount on start up. THIS IS NORMAL!

This "problem" that everyone seems to have gets quite annoying.

Haha, kind of like people who worry about backfiring after a redline shift?

Normal oil smoke comes from the MOP & through the oil injectors.

It's proportional to engine load.

At high mileage the side oil seals start to wear out.

After years of high boost the turbo oil seals start to leak.

Quick test:

Engine warmed up.

Tranny in neutral.

Hold the revs at 5K for 10 seconds.

Let off the throttle & punch it.

You will normally see only a tiny bit of smoke.
