Transmission
#1
I just chagned my transmission oil the other day and i used 80w-90. It was a pain to get it in there becuase i got bottles and had to add a tube to get it to the hole. I filled it untill it started to run over and then plugged it up. Now when i shift, especialy 1st and 2nd it kind of feels like the clutch is not in and the clutch seems find other wise but also when i downshift into first or second it won't go in for a long time and i have the clutch to the floor. Does anyone have an idea of what is wrong?

When you step on the clutch, can you hear the gears spin down?
How's the clutch master fluid level?
To fill the tranny I use about 30" of 3/8" hose with a funnel in the end.
I feed it down past the oil filter to the fill hole, then just pour the oil in slowly.
Also synthetic gear oil can sometimes bring new life to an old tranny.

I took it out after i added fluid and 1st and 2nd gear still are not working right, i can't go into them when the car is anywhere of about 5 mph or higher but i can go into any other gear with the clutch in. if it was the gear fluid wouldn't it be doing something to all gears.

Since the only thing that changed is the fluid, try another fluid. Not all fluids are created equal! Redline mt-90 has a great reputation, did wonders for my 110k n/a trans. Made worn 3rd gear synchros feel new again. give it a try
