nope you must change the whole rear end and axles if you want to run a t2 drive shaft and tranny, or the other option is to put the t2 tranny in the car with proper starter mind you and flywheel and have a drive shaft made with the slip yoke of a t2 and the shaft of a na.
in my opinion if your thinking this job is hard i wouldnt even waist your money on rebuilding the trannies yourself, just find a shop that is known for good work and have them do it man. it may be more expencive at the start but will save you alot of greef and money in the long run man.

and as for the socet you need, dude i highly recomend not making one unless you have someone who can weld really well and machine heat treated metal and then reheat treat after its made or the socket will do more harm then good. i own 2 mazda factory special tool sockets for the trannies and wouldnt sell them ever. i own alot of the special tools for mazda rotary motors and all of the spacial tools for the trannies even the miata/rx8 6speed. they are expencive but well worth it.

You CAN put the T2 tranny in and have a custom shaft made...
My opinion is still figure out why you keep blowing your trannies... i mean, if your tranny is built and survives... everything flows down hill if you know what i'm saying... first your tranny... then your rear end or axles, etc...
if your driving style is aggressive, consider upgrades...

yes you can bolt up a t2 tranny to a na motor but you need a t2 flywheel, either factory or aftermarket t2 lightweight with proper counter weight for your na engine. you need a t2 starter as they mount upside down compaired to the na tranny, the trans mounts unless a convertable are the same , but you need the slip yoke from a t2 drive shaft welded to a na drive shaft or take a t2 drive shaft and weld the universal from a na drive shaft on so it will bolt to the na diff.
a na diff and axels will hold up to 200hp easy and i know from personal use with all the bolt ons anda 100 shot of spray the only thing i blew was my tranny. the axels held a 4500rpm clutch drop but i wouldnt go any higher rpm then that on stock na axels and diff.
i blew 1-3 gears out of my s5 na tranny and the race car had second gear syncro blow out in 3 pieces and the syncro hubs where worn beond any reuse. so if you want to rebuild this na tranny buy not only the syncros but buy the syncro hubs, guides , prolly wont need bearings and inspect the **** out of the gears, one little chip will cause a huge failure down the road in a short amount of time man.

Yes I drive VERY agressive. A normal 15 min drive around town will include at least 2 drifts, a mulitiple stop light races / hard launches / burn out. Thats why I Want to go t2 get something stronger. ...
But ... just to make it clear ... a custom driveshaft wont be weak right? it wont have the 1/3 inch issue right? That sounds like I will break that pretty easily. The 1/3 inch thing is only if I use the t2 driveshaft and have to drill it right?
