I've started my TII swap into my '86 GXL, I'm going to post this in the N/A section as well. I'm going to be running a S4 13BT engine, TII transmission, custom driveshaft to my n/a rearend, most likely an E6k (maybe a LT-8). My question is regarding the chassis (driver's side) harness being compatible with the TII components. I've read that the connection for the pressure sensor and such is different (won't be using that though with the EMS) as well as the alternator connector is different. Will I run into any problems here, can't I just use my n/a alternator so it plugs in with my n/a harness or even just wire in the TII connector if I use the TII alternator? I REALLY dont want to swap that harness!!

My other question is regarding fuel...I'm going to be running a Walbro 255lph fuel pump, I've read something about the TII fuel resistor being different than the n/a one, will I run into any problems using the Walbro and not changing anything else?

Thanks alot for any help!!!

-Marc

If my memory recalls correctly, you have one complete harness on your GXL that goes to your ECU and runs all the alt, starter, battery, unlike the T2 where it is 2 seperate harnesses. I just had to replace my battery-alt-starter -cac harness on my T2 and I know for a fact know you can not use your N/A harness. the tranny connectors are all different EVERYTHING is differnt TRUST me. You will have to GHETTO big time to make them work.

Theres a chassis harness and a engine harness no both n/a and turbo fc's (or passeger and drivers side). They are seperate! I'm going to be running any ems, so alot of connectors won't be used, the entire engine harness is going to be replaced, by only concern is the driver's side/chassis harness compatability.

i think you can use that harness for your swap (driver side), especially if you are using a haltech/ standalone
