The only part of the installation I'm worried about are the 5th & 6th ports. I don't quite understand what needs to been done, I was told it's as simple as plugging in a wire or something like that. Is that true? The car's an '88 SE.

hmmm... these are all dual exhausts, are there any single exhuasts (that can have good gains)?

All of the exhausts i've seen are dual exhausts.

Call me weird, but I dont really like duals.
i think the best single exhaust is corksport, but its LOUD. if you want a dual, get a RB, they are by far the best.

there's a metal tube, it bolts to the exhaust with 2 small bolts, and at the engine side there's one vacuum hose (held on with a small clamp on my car) and a rubber hose that went to the ACV (also held on with a hose clamp). It's really quite simple, especially if the new exhaust has the connection for the pipe (which is should).

When did RB stop putting an O2 bung in the streetable header? The last three headers I've bought for different year RX-7's all not only have the bung but a piece of wire and a connecter to replace/extend from the stock location.
When did they start? Mine doesn't. I've had two and neither one did. Currently I've got my O2 sensor plumbed into the intermediate pipe that sits between the header and the RT cat. Compare your header to the two photos. Does your have a bung that's mysteriously missing from the photos? Who's supplying the headers? RB makes them, but possibly a retailer is welding in the bung. Performance Machine will do this, possibly other retailers are as well

Well if I do end up ordering mine, I will be ordering from www.speedmachineperformance.com. Seems like a really honest and nice person.

i'd order from mazdatrix, IMO. i've ordered probably over $2000 in parts from them, and never had any problems. even when stuff is on back order, i get it a few days later. they do great business and parts get to me quickly. never ever broken or damaged. they have good phone service, and even their answering people know rotaries good enough to help you out.

you also should be able to order directly from racing beat. if not, go through mazdatrix, they are a RB dealer.

I ordered my streetable RB header directly from RB about 9 months ago. It came with the bung welded into the secondary pipe right after the collector. It also came with a wire to extend your stock O2 wire for the new position.
