So yah, directions are there for a reason. For some reason I just forget that fact

So I am going to rebuild my front brakes, seems like an easy operation when all it involves is chaning the seals. So I start teraing the brakes apart and even get to the point where I removed the bridge bolts and took the two pieces apart Well, if anyone has read the FSM it boldly states: Do not remove the caliper bridge bolts. OOPS. Well, I am sure it will not kill anything but I am sure they told me NOT to do that because they don't even tell me how much to torque them.

Anyone know??

I will have pics and a how to later.

the english cars are the same way, it says DONT REMOVE in BIG BOLD letters, but then they sell the o ring?

i think you could just match an o ring up and be ok, or just buy a rebuilt caliper?

English car?

Yah, the o'rings look fine but I was wondering what the torque should be. My buddy thought 40-50lb.

I did it on two of my cars. Just got them tight. One has a ton of miles on it since....I sold it about 2 years ago. The other is my project car. Hardest thing is getting out the stuck pistions. My seals were fine on both but a couple of the pistons has some rust on them. Cleaned off the rust and they were back in service.
