hey guys,
here is the question every one of us ask sooner or later. i need more room in a car, for my girl and my friends. i was thinking of selling my 85 and getting a 1G eclipse or talon tsi. something with atleast a back seat (bigger then my 2x2) and with a turbo. what do you guys think?

I say, tell them to walk! Thats the beauty of 2 seaters. You dont have to taxi everyone, and the 1 person who DOES get to ride with you will feel all that more special.
So just tell your friends to buy a bigger car Or you can go the route of buying another car, and drive that when you feel like you want to be a taxi. I personally am going to buy either a new crown victoria ex interceptor and put hydrolics on it (cause that would be funny!) or an old 70's cadillac el durado convertable. Big enough to fit 6 people comfortablly and still stylin'! :bigthumg:
So just tell your friends to buy a bigger car

personally, I say stick with the 2 seater:
a: you won't be a taxi
b: your carless friends will be more motivated to get their own car
c: you won't be a taxi
d: when you take your girl out in it, it's alot more private/intimate in a FC.... or maybe I just drank too much that night in the woods... (and if you fold the back seats down or have the bins, bring a blanket and pillows.... fold front seats forward and you can sleep in the hatch comfortably... tight spaces are fun.
e: you're less likely to get pulled over driving in the middle of the night with a maximum of two people in your car, rather than 4-6 people.... groups attract attention, implies party.
f: the FC hatch has a huge amount of storage, which is good and bad... depends on if you let your friends know.... I ended up becoming the family transport when I lived at home because I could fit things that wouldnt fit in my sisters tiburon or my parents maxima, like big sheets of glass for instance. That sucked, but it came in handy when I had to bring the engine hoist home, box fit right in the back. It's almost like having a pickup truck with a bed cover, just sexier and covert.
g: you won't be a taxi, being taxi sucks, you go out, and 3 other people depend on you for a ride, it makes it a bitch to leave early or late, since everyone has to agree or you'll be pissing people off.
keep the FC, that is, unless it has other problems that just make it a poor candidate regardless of seating. Maybe you just need a better FC

my opinion, a first gen turbo talon is a great platform to start, and are fast with only a couple g's in it......tsi/gs-x would be that way to go.....however, i do not think that they have any more room than your FC. i just sold my project junker talon because i was neglecting the fd.....
sell the 1st gen and keep the 2nd gen.....room issues in these 2 cars is a moot point.....

i'd stick with the 2 seater cause i'd hate being a taxi as well....buuuuuuuuuut, if i needed a back seat it would be SUPRA TIME!

Supra back seat is a joke, about as worthless as the back seat in the 2+2 FC's. Worse yet in the supra since you can't even fit a gallon of milk under the hatch vertically.
