I wasnt sure exactlt what its called, I do know that when you un-plug

it the car will crank and wont start unless there is some excess

gas in the engine. Otherwise it will just keep on cranking, or it will start and die right away.

If its the same plug im thinking of, but again I cant figure out why its

been taped to the steering column?

I don't know, but there appears to be more than just unplugging and taping out of the way going on there, I see a crimp connector and possibly some other modifications in the pic. Hard to say whatever the person responsible was trying to achieve here.

Maybe the relay is sitting up in there and he just has to plug it back in. He can look at the pics I posted so he knows what it looks like then go back under there and see if it's there.

the relay powerse the sub-zero cold start assist during cranking and also something to do with the AFM that I can't recall, but it's a complicated relay. It has a cap and resistor inside and an additional inductor hidding inside the main spool for the electromagnet/relay mechanism. What appears to be a rlc (resonant) circuit.
