I'm going to be putting an S5 engine into an S4, is there anything special I should know? Which clutch and pressure plate should I get, the S4 (1988) or the S5 (1989)?

By the way, this is for a N/A engine.

Thanks for any help you could give me.

If you want to do it, only use the s5 rotating assembly. The manifolds are cool looking, but the gains do not seem to be worth it. Use all S4 components, and remember to change the counterweight, both front and back. Mazda changed EVERYTHING a little bit when they changed engines, and it makes it a bitch to make everything work right. I did this swap on an 87, using S5 manifolds and other bolt-ons, but kept the S4 front cover so I could use the mechanical OMP. I guess you could swap motors, harness and all, using the s5 computer, but it almost needs to be all or none. Just my .02
