s4 vs s5
#12
the s4 motors were not stronger. the s5 motors are the ones that got the larger dowel pin lands, thats why everyone buys s5 rear irons.
the s5 VDI is not the equivalent of "honda vtec". In fact the s4 n/a's 6-port actuation system was in fact the world's first variable valving within a motor...before vtec ever existed. Yes it's true mazda had "vtec" before honda. the s5's VDI however used harmonic frequencies or some bullshit to gain some torque bla bla bla n/a is boring.
s5 body moldings wer ethe same color as the car, s4 body moldings were black no matter what color the car was.
s5 t2's had actual sideskirts, s4 t2's had basically a mudflap in front of the tire.
s4's have a better thermostat housing, it's metal and doesnt break, s5's have a plastic thermostat housing which over time cracks and breaks, which depending on when it happens can be catasrophic. there are now aftermarket metal replacement s5 thermostat housings.
s4's have a mechanical OMP, s5's have an electronic OMP.
s4 n/a's 6 port actuators work off of backpressure from the exhaust, s5 n/as 6-port actuators work off something else, like i said before n/a is boring.
s5 t2's had better turbos then the s4 t2's.
all s5's had more power then the comparable s4 models.
and on and on and on.

i HATE the s5 belts
A body of mine accross the bay had a good old solo spin out on the freeway with his S5 N/A. Seat belts didn't hold and he made a new opening in the windshield with his head.
Haha hes ok, but his seatbelt broke and his windshield did too.
Poor poor windshield. F-ing seatbelt.
S5 Seat belt, Built to fail.

... uhm guys not all s5's came with the "stupid belts" only the ones with the "auto seatbelt" option...
The VDI system is COMPLETLY different than honda vtec. vtec affects valve timing where as VDI is affecting the dynamics of the intake manifold. ie making it larger and as we all no the larger the space after the throttlebody the better to an extent at higher RPM, as it is premixed air and fuel ready for the engine to use. Remember you so called rotary guys, rotary engines HAVE NO VALVES. and HOW DARE YOU EVEN MENTION HONDUHHHHHS WHILST TALKING ROTARY!
SMITE!
