what is the difference between the s4 and the s5??

You may not know but this question has been ask like a zillion times! So next time jus press the little search button up there and you'll pull up many results.

So in simple S4 VS S5 in breif

First off there is a difference in the body styleing. (kuckie and zenkie lights) fenders and so on.

Engines were different as well in compression, throttle bodies. 6 ports emissions. etc

Both were 13B for the N/A motors and 13BT for the turbo models.

S4 engines were stronger and more well built then the s5 engines.

S4 was build during 1986-1988 S5 1989-1991 (JPN '92)

the S5 has more horse power for both and better engine management systems though

I've never heard this before, why would S4 be stronger?

zoominmyhead 10-02-2007 10:10 AM

didn't the s5 come with an intake manifold that had VDI(vtech in honda lamens terms)? at around 5k rpm it would kick in?

"S4 engines were stronger and more well built then the s5 engines."

at least from experience of people i know, the engines got stronger as they progressed (late model) s5 engines are a little bit stronger than s4 engines but s6 engines are stronger then both, either way unless your going for 450+ horsepower the strength of the block is irrelevant besides most people who go for that much Hp whether fc or fd dont use stock blocks anyways and they are strengthened by doweling, replacing the engine bolts with studs, or usings thicker studs (which requires the engine holes to be reamed out)

japan 92 was the s6.

I call bluff!

I beg to differ. I've read the cold hard words. (somewhere) The FC's were built for one more year, or at least half before the FD came out.

not sure when they stopped building the FC, especially the vert, but the FD started production in dec of 91
