Default s4 speaker sizes?

I thought my radio was bad not giving me any sound but i tried a good one and still no good. I think ill just replace all 4 speakers since i hear the oem ones are junk anyway. What sizes do i need to look for to put in doors and rear?

I ended up finding some BOSE 8"s in my shed and they fit the strut tower. I found my fronts are in the dash and theyre 4"s

Dash is 4"
Door is 5.25"
Rear are 4", but if you make brackets then you could fit up to 6.5"

I'm not sure if 8" will fit in the rear strut tower, you probably need to make some brackets.

it fits perfectly. I did a mock up last night. It wont be an absolutely perfect fit but it will work. One screw in one hole and one screw over the lip on the opposite side paired with 2-sided tape to prevent rattles. All i've gota do is put em both in then get my wiring to the dash speakers redone. Most of my issue seems to be at the original dash harness radio connector. The wires are broken in the insulation at the connector from being cramped in that tight space for so long. I'll probably end up cutting about 3" back in the harness and straight wiring my radio to eliminate it

Interesting, can you still put the speaker covers on them?

All the wires should be checked, especially if you don't have an aftermarket deck unit. And if you want the sounds to come out nicer, you should get an amplifier to complete the whole sound communication between the audio units.

Not cheap if you want everything to be done right... lol

actually my issue is no sound or radio. I bought the car without one and i've been driving on it for a few weeks. I drive 2 hrs a day so it's getting annoying. I put an aftermarket one in but still no good. I ran continuity checks on the wiring. It's fine until you mess with the back of the connectors. There's some broken or almost broken wires. I put another speaker I had and hooked it into one of the rears and managed to get sound but i plug in the OEM speaker and nothing. So the amplifiers are shot. I just want sound period. If i can go aftermarket radio with 2 decent 4"s in the dash or even the original 4"s running new wires to them wont be hard, this will also eliminate the pass side amplifier and then with the quality and bass from those 2 8"s i'll have decent sound.

Also i can put speaker covers on those 8"s (and this is why i chose those 8"s) but the only issue is they have a cone that sticks up 1/2" out the center so i'll have to remove the mesh from the speaker covers. Unless you look close you wont notice theyre not OEM since theyve got the same mesh on the speaker itself.

it may be a few weeks. I plan to work on it more tomorrow but with my engine out of commission due to some cracked OM lines I may not be motivated to do it. Then again I may get cabin fever and go tinker lol Plus it's FINALLY supposed to cool down into the 70s tomorrow but it's suppossed to rain. I hope it's not 90 when I finally get around to working on it again like it was today
